How can I set up a simple automation triggered by an event?

To set up a simple action-based automation, you will use the Automations tab within your Admin dashboard. The process follows a straightforward "Trigger and Action" flow.

1. Select Your Trigger

First, define the event that will start the automation. Common triggers include:

  • A new report is received.

  • The Channel Is

  • A report contains key words

2. Set Your Conditions (Optional)

If you don't want the rule to apply to every report, add a filter. For example:

  • "Only if the Category is equal to Health & Safety."

  • "Only if the Location is Paris."

3. Choose the Action

Decide what Whispli should do automatically when the trigger occurs. Popular actions include:

  • Assign to: Automatically give a specific user or group access to the case.

  • Send Notification: Alert a specific team member via email or push notification.

  • Post a Message: Send a pre-written acknowledgment message directly to the informant's Safe Inbox.

4. Save and Test

Once you name and save your automation, it becomes active immediately. It is a best practice to submit a "test" report to your preview page to ensure the routing and notifications are working exactly as expected.
