Send files to Reporters

Learn how you can send files to reporters after they have submitted a report.

After you have received a report you are able to share files within the two way chat function by clicking on the paperclip icon.

All files shared within the Chat window are visible on the right hand side of the page under “Chat conversation files”. The shared files can also be removed from the chat box window by both the case manager and the reporter by clicking on the ℹ icon then clicking on the 🗑 icon. There is also a clear distinction between the files shared by the reporter and the case manager as seen in the screenshot.

Whispli allows you to upload most file types:

Devices such as computers, cameras and phones may automatically embed metadata in digital files they create. This metadata could include identifying information such as file creation date and time, device used, IP address and file author.

Whispli automatically removes metadata from the following types:

Images: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .svg

Documents: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx

All other file types and password protected files will not have their metadata removed and are uploaded at your discretion. If you want to share a file type that is not listed above, try converting it to a PDF file before uploading.
